The rail is stainless steel with aluminium alloy hooks, which matters on a coat rack more than it sounds: this is the fitting that takes a wet winter coat every day for years. Pressed mild steel bends at the hook root and the paint goes at the same spot.

Glass bodies and silicone seals wash normally. Hand-wash any wooden lid and dry it straight away; a dishwasher dries the wood out and splits it.
